Article Processing Charges

Why we charge APCs?

As an open-access journal, APALM doesn’t receive subscription revenue. APCs cover the accepted article’s final publication steps: editorial management and peer review, similarity screening, copyediting/typesetting, DOI registration and hosting, indexing/metadata distribution, and long-term preservation/archiving. There are no submission fees, page charges or colour charges.

When fees apply?

APCs are charged only upon acceptance. The acceptance email includes invoice and payment instructions. Editorial decisions are independent of payment status.

Waivers & discounts

APALM considers waiver/discount requests—especially for authors from low- and lower-middle-income economies (per World Bank list). Request at submission (not after acceptance) with a short justification; decisions are communicated before external review where possible and do not influence editorial outcomes. See Waiver Policy.

Who is invoiced & payment

  • By default the corresponding author is invoiced; you may name a funder/institutional payer at submission.

  • India: invoiced in INR; Outside India: invoiced in USD. Any currency conversions shown are indicative; where referenced, APALM uses the RBI/FBIL USD–INR reference rate on the invoice date (your bank may apply different rates/fees). Bank/processing/FX charges are borne by the payer.

Taxes

APCs are inclusive of applicable taxes; taxes are added where required by law.

Refunds & billing corrections

  • Journal-caused withdrawal before publication: full APC refund.

  • Post-publication corrections/retractions: handled per editorial policy; APCs are not refunded except where the journal is at fault.

  • Billing errors (e.g., duplicate payment): corrected or refunded promptly upon proof of payment.
